    Very good

Really good value. We had a room on the front of the hotel so had a bit of traffic noise. For people not bothered about that, or for rooms on the back of the hotel I would say it's excellent value. Generally Spotlessly clean with friendly, helpful staff.

We had a room on the front of the hotel so had a bit of traffic noise. generally spotlessly clean but when we opened the net curtains there was some mould on the window - the only let down on the cleanliness front! Being on one side of a dual carriageway and with limited dining options, it is a nuisance having to go and find somewhere nice to eat. Generally great value though and would stay agin at the price we paid if we could have a room on the back of the hotel.

    Fabulous

Staff are generally very helpful and friendly. Dogs are allowed to stay. Good rates for cancellable bookings.

To get to East Midlands Airport requires quite a detour and the traffic is very busy in this are at peak times.

    Good

Days inn Donngton is a clean hotel with no frills services ideal for business traveler traveling north south in own car. Also approachable for travelers for business coming from the airport and going back to the airport. The rooms are designed & equipped , unusual for this type of hotel, with a thought to elderly and handicapped travelers, which is a distinguished feature missing even some good hotels.

Nothing in particular in not likable

    Fabulous

It was easy to get to, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The curtains were ideal for keeping the natural light out in the morning, especially during long, summer days & a lie-in is a must. The staff in the 'cafe' attached to the hotel were also friendly, even during busy periods.

The main concern/gripe is the room was too hot. The rooms do not appear to have air-conditioning but the hotel is too close to the road to leave the window open at night. This meant a disturbed sleep due to either heat or traffic noise. The hotel information also states that it has a bar but it only sells glasses of wine or spirits. They only sell bottled beer/lager, in my view this is not a bar. The hotel does not have a bottle bank.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly

I was really disappointed with the hotel and its facilities. The position was miles away from Donington circuit, the tariff was deceiving as we were told that we had to pay for breakfast on top when the website indicated that it was included. The bar was four bar stool tucked under the stairs next to reception - not cosy or relaxing. Breakfast was served in the cold drafty service station ( not a restaurant as described), hash brown were raw and of the standard of a greasy cafe. We were offered dinner but again the thought of an expensive service station dinner did not appeal. The photos on the website was very deceiving and had I had a true picture of this hotel and all the adders I probably would not have stayed there at all. I am not a snob and I know I did not pay alot of money but still would have expected decent facilities for my money with no surprises - I am not sure if this is due to the way Booked.net advertises?. It was not a good first impression when we arrived and guest were already complaining.

Crikey where do I start? I was really dissapointed with the overall expreience. The advert on Booked.net for Days Inn Donington was extremely misleading. It promised a bar and restaurant. After a long day we were looking forward to a nice meal with friends and some social time in the bar. The bar was so small and offered very little choice, not to mention extremely expensive. The 'restaurant' was no more than a service station cafe, literally! With very little choice as far as food went. Infact we were that dissapointed we actually had to venture out into Castle Donington to get dinner. Not ideal as it was late and we had 2 very tired children. The hotel offered no facilities for the children. We were also shocked to discover the price we were quoted did not include breakfast, this needs to be made clear to customers! The advert offered a buffet breakfast. This was not the case! The advert is also misleading when it comes to saying East Midlands airort. It is not on the site of East midlands airport at all, and customers deserve the right to know they would have to travel some way to the airport. It was also not made clear that the hotel was actually part of a motorway service station. If this had been made clear I certainly wouldn't have booked this hotel. The photos used on the advert for the hotel, are cunning and manipulated to say the least. The pictures of the bar especially are taken in such a way that the bar looks hospitable and comfortable. This was far from the case. Funnily enough there is no photograph of the restaurant, a clever way to hide the truth I feel. This hotel would be ideal for a single business person needing a stop over. It is certainly not suitable as a weekend break, especially with children. I most definitely would not stay at this hotel again and I will never book with Booked.net again.
